New Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden Gameplay Showcases Fighting and Assist Mechanics

Bandai Namco has published a new trailer for Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden, their upcoming 3DS fighting game.

Featured above, the nearly eight minutes of gameplay showcases the fighting and assist mechanics in the game. Each character that you select is depicted in a frame in the lower screen. By touching each frame, you can switch between your characters. Support characters, or Z-Assist characters, have their own frames, and touching them brings them in to support you in battle.

Every character has their own level of “Dragon Power,” which acts as sort of a balance that you have to build your team around. With each character adding towards a cumulative dragon power total, you’ll be limited to only being able to use certain types of characters together.

The Arc System Works-developed fighting game is coming to the Nintendo 3DS on June 11th in Japan.
