Bandai Namco has confirmed that Dark Souls II has sold over 2.5 million units worldwide.

The news comes from their Global Gamers Day event, where the publisher confirmed the new milestone. It’s worth mentioning an expansion/new version of the game, Dark Souls II: Scholars of the First Sin, shipped worldwide last month. Scholars of the First Sin comes with gameplay balancing, all of the previously released downloadable content, as well as current-generation versions.

Finally, Bandai Namco also confirmed that Dragon Ball Xenoverse has also sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide. However, while Dark Souls II was released back in March of last year, Dragon Ball Xenoverse has only been available since February of this year. In case you missed it, you can read our review for Dragon Ball Xenoverse here.

Ok Namco you can start not selling that much DLC… Namco… what are you doing… why does Dark Souls III have 120$ of cosmetics day one, Microtransactions and Easy Backstabs?
Why can I only play as Master Roshi in the new DBZ game?

Despite all its flaws Xenoverse is a really enjoyable game, that tries something different from the usual fighting game formula. Completely deserved sales numbers.

I’m glad bamco has met with success with these games, I like bamco in general.

Agreed. They took the mission placed gameplay structure similar to games like Monster Hunter and Phantasy Star Portable. The fighting system could be a bit better but its still very serviceable.

I’m still waiting for both of these games to get a good sale price. I really want to play them, but with my backlog I just can’t justify paying full price for it.

And if we go by the steamspy numbers, at least a quarter of those Xenoverse sales more or less comes from Steam.
    Not bad at all.
