We’ve learned (source is in German, via Nintendo Germany) that Pokemon boss and series producer Junichi Masuda is going to announce a special message at this year’s Gamescom expo.
Nintendo is actually holding several Pokemon events at the Gamescom expo, one of them being the announcement that Masuda is going to hold. The last time that Masuda had an announcement like this, it was at the Japan Expo in France, where he revealed Honedge for Pokemon X and Y.
Naturally, this leads us to believe he’ll reveal something new! Perhaps some new Pokemon? Or some new mega evolutions? Also confirmed for this year’s Gamescom is an autograph session held with Shigeki Morimoto, the man responsible for the battle system in the Pokemon games. Yes, he has worked on the games since the original iterations.
If you’re at Gamescom this year, you can meet him and get an autograph on August 14th, although a time wasn’t specified. However, 8 very lucky players will be able to challenge him to a Pokemon battle between 12 PM and 3 PM that day.
Lastly, Nintendo is distributing a special Vivillion during Gamescom, specifically the Pokemon themed one that France and Japan have already gotten a chance at.
