Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links Updates for October Bring D/D/D Archetype Support

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links D/D/D

Konami Digital Entertainment have announced the October updates for Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links, bringing support for D/D/D archetype decks.

The updates will be including more support for Pendulum Monsters in the form of a new Mini-Box, structure deck, and event featuring a new character. The Power Beyond Dimensions: Declan Akaba” event (as stated in-game) will run until October 28th; with a mini-box and structure deck that supports D/D/D themed decks.

D/D (or Different Dimension) and D/D/D (Different Dimension Demon) are cards that attempt to utilize all of the game’s various summoning methods. This is by manipulating your hand, deck, and Extra Deck to ensure your best monsters can take to the field.

The archetype had been used prior to the addition of Pendulum Summoning and the world based on Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V in September. However, the new cards will support the new summoning method.

The event itself, in the same vein as other character-specific events, takes multiple days to complete, and earning event points will progress you through a variety of tiers to earn rewards. These include gems, game mats, card sleeves, and different cards included in the D/D/D archetype.

The Mini-Box, which Konami announced on its website along with the structure deck and mini-box, also adds support for a couple of decks from the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX series. This is not wholly unsurprising, considering the involvement of multiple GX characters in Arc-V‘s plot. Even so, there are new cards for the Crystal Beast and Destiny Hero archetypes.

The Performapal Archetype also saw new cards in the Mini-Box. While it had been given more cards during the Arc-V launch, a lot of the cards in the Pendulum Genesis box were reprints from the earlier Infernity Destruction box.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links is available and free-to-play on Windows PC (via Steam), Android, and iOS.
