• Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana has Base-Building, New Story Details

    The latest Dengeki PlayStation (via Hokanko) has revealed the first story details and such for Falcom’s September 2014-announced Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana.

    The game takes place in the islands of the Goethe Sea, just to the south of Greek. The returning protagonist, Adol, is a passenger on a ship that is traveling to Eresia from Xandria.

    The ship gets besieged by a massive beast and is destroyed. Following this, Adol wakes up on the cursed island known only as Siren’s Island.

    The game will see Adol recruiting and helping other survivors, as they’ll build a base together. Adol’s illustration design is supposedly different, but details regarding this are scant.

    Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is set to launch in Japan sometime next summer, for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
