NIS America have announced the demo for Falcom’s action-RPG Ys IX: Monstrum Nox is now available on Nintendo Switch and Steam.
As previously reported, the game is developed by Falcom, and follows the continuing adventures of Adol Christin. This time, he has been captured in the city of Balduq, home to the largest prison in the Romun Empire.
After being accused of being behind the disappearance of a Romun military fleet, a strange cloaked woman helps him escape. In the process, he is transformed into a Monstrum, a being with supernatural powers.
Alongside other Monstrum; Adol now exorcises monsters, fends off threats from the dimension of Grimwald Nox, and unraveles the mysteries of Balduq and Monstrum.
While the console demos have time limitations, the Windows PC demo has no such limitation. However, the demo seems to be part of the Steam Next Fest, meaning the demo may not be available after June 22nd.
You can find the full rundown (via Steam) below.
Feared Protectors: Play as any of the six notorious Monstrum, each with their own unique Gifts that grant abilities such as scaling sheer walls or detecting hidden objects to protect the city from shadowy creatures.

Strength of the Night: Familiar mechanics such as Flash Dodge and Flash Guard allow you to outmaneuver your foes, while new additions such as Gifts and Boost Mode further augment your ability to fight.
