Falcom has announced Ys IX: Monstrum Nox.

The latest in their flagship RPG series is coming to PlayStation 4 sometime next year in Japan.

While details are scant, the game is set in a prison city of some kind, and will focus on these new people called “Monstrum,” who possess supernatural abilities.

Fans of the series can expect series mainstays like fast action, battles with huge bosses (which include new elements tied into the new game’s setting), free exploration of the game field, Guild features, and more.
