Your Eyeballs Will Explode After Watching this Star Citizen Trailer

star citizen F7A Hornet ss 1

While Star Citizen keeps printing money, currently sitting above $24 million USD (unlocking public transportation), Chris Roberts and the guys at Cloud Imperium Games have shown off a new trailer that is sure to question a lot of peoples’ view on reality.

This is an in game commercial for the Anvil F7C Hornet, a civilian class version of the F7A Hornet. This ship is more than capable of handling lots of threats and challengers, whether they be pirates, mercenaries, Vanduul, and more.

What makes this commercial so amazing? Not only is it “100 percent in engine”, according to Roberts, but it is rendered at 4K resolution. This means if you click “original resolution” on that youtube video, your video card will probably crash – unless you have a set up capable of handling 4K.

You can check out the commercial trailer below:

With the publishing of this commercial/trailer, the funding for Star Citizen seems to have jumped, ringing in hundreds of thousands of dollars in mere hours between yesterday and today.

Chris Roberts elaborated on how much they’re pushing PC hardware with Star Citizen:

“It’s rendered 100 per cent in-engine in real-time at 4K resolution. We scale everything for the super high resolutions that will be the basis of tomorrow’s gaming experience; our assets are designed with high polycounts instead of having details baked into their textures. That’s a big part of why Nvidia and AMD have been demoing Star Citizen at 4K!”

The next stretch goal for Star Citizen is at $26 million, which unlocks the Enchaned Capital Ship systems:

  • Enhanced Capital Ship Systems – In addition to the command and control systems we’ve already outlined, we’re going to expand capital ship functions! Lead a damage control team to fight fires and repair key systems during battle, control internal bulkheads to slow boarders and man a number of consoles, like navigation and engineering, that will make commanding a capital ship feel even more immersive.

To think that the pilot in that commercial went through that epic dogfight, only to get ice cream for his wife/family.
