Capcom hasn’t forgotten or given up on Deep Down, the long-delayed action RPG first revealed alongside the PlayStation 4 back in 2013.

The news comes from corporate officer Yoshinori Ono (via Eurogamer), who talked up the free-to-play RPG. Ono was asked what happened to him becoming “Mr. Deep Down,” a nod to his leading of the project since its reveal.

“I haven’t been called Mr. Deep Down quite yet. The original team is clearly no longer together at this point, but people might have noticed that we’ve kept the trademark registered, and it’s not been completely given up on,” Ono said.

He added, “Every year we examine titles we’re doing in future, and we bring up projects to approve and move forward. There’s not much I can say about it, but if you’ve noticed we’ve kept the trademark it means we haven’t given up on the title completely.”

The interviewer noted they played the game at Tokyo Game Show years ago, and that it looked promising. Ono said they “did have the concept developed a bit further than that, but yeah..”

The last update for the game was last summer, when Capcom quietly renewed the trademark for the game.
