Yet another big name at Square Enix has left the company – this time it’s chief technology officer Yoshihisa Hashimoto.

We’ve learned that Hashimoto is leaving the company due to “personal reasons,” and this marks his departure after five years at the company. Previously, he was working for Sega at Sonic Team.

Hashimoto was CTO alongside his role under director/producer Naoki Yoshida on Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. He was also the manager of the Advanced Technology Division within Square Enix, and was the lead of development on the company’s new Luminous engine.

Despite his departure from the company, he will still serve as a technical adviser on both Final Fantasy XIV and the Luminous engine.
