Yokai Watch is Finally Coming West in 2015

We’ve learned via NeoGAF that Level-5 president and CEO Akihiro Hino confirmed that Japanese phenomenon Yokai Watch is finally coming west in 2015.

Previously, Level-5 had been considering a global expansion of the ghost hunting series earlier this year, mostly due to the popularity it has been seeing in Japan. Hino took to Japanese news site Zakzak to confirm the news:

“We’re looking towards a global expansion sometime next year. I believe that Yokai Watch has appeal as a Japanese-esque fantasy. We’ve already gotten the go-ahead from a western toy maker, who said that it will ‘absolutely be a success.’”

We don’t have confirmation on which Yokai Watch game(s) may be considered for the west, as it could easily mean one or the other. However, it makes more sense to just launch in the west by launching the pair of sequels, Yokai Watch 2: Ganso and Honke.
