Japanese developer Mebius has announced a release date for YOBARAI Detective: Miasma Breaker, their new multi-directional action shooter.

YOBARAI Detective: Miasma Breaker is set to launch on January 16th, 2025 for Nintendo Switch. The game will also be showcased at Tokyo Game Show 2024, from September 26th through the 29th.

Here’s a rundown on the game:

Shoot and exorcise the dark night! This is the story of the night exorcism detectives (YOBARAI) who do not appear on the surface.

Story

At night, when people are asleep, an evil spirit “Miasma” appears from somewhere and brings misfortune to people in the streets. 

The main character, Kisaragi Ninja, is a detective who is not in the public eye.

Ostensibly, she is a staff member of a detective agency, but behind her back, she is an agent of an organization that exterminates miasma.

She battles miasma that appear out of nowhere in the middle of the night on a daily basis. What awaits her there is …….

Game System

This is an omni-directional action-shooting game that emphasizes exhilaration as the player defeats a large number of enemies one after another.

The basic flow of the game is that you take on quests and use the rewards obtained by clearing the quests to strengthen the character you control and challenge the next mission.

Enjoy building your character by skillfully dealing with enemies coming at you from all directions.
