Square Enix has confirmed some very interesting news – they’re bringing the entire Final Fantasy XIII trilogy to the PC.
The upcoming release will hit the platform via Steam, on October 9th, and it will be kicked off with the original game leading the new releases. The game will also be able to be downloaded from the Square Enix Online Store, or if you prefer good ol’ Steam, that works too.
The original Final Fantasy XIII will cost $15.99 on PC when it launches, and if you pre-order the Steam version you’ll get it at a 10% percent discount. The Steam port of the game is also coming with a handful of Steam Trading Cards for you to collect and trade.
The release dates for Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII were not confirmed, but we’ll keep you guys posted.

September 18, 2014 at 4:44 pmI hated 1 and never gotten past Hour 6. (a friend went about 20hrs in and threw the game behind his dresser for a few months before selling it)
I disliked 2 and never gotten further than the first 50 “Kupo’s.” (I wonder why I ever liked moogles)
I felt insulted by 3. Every step forwards took several steps backwards making those “improvements” meaningless. I still hated the characters, but I hated the game that was attached to it more (for once in this series).

September 18, 2014 at 11:21 pmHiroyuki Ito and Yasumi Matsuno were the last two people at Square Enix I truly appreciated. I cannot find enjoyment in the lifeless husk that is Final Fantasy XIII.
That said, I am glad the series is coming to a new audience on PC. It will only help sales and is a wise business decision.
Here’s to hoping Final Fantasy Type-0 and XV can breathe life into the offline franchise much like XIV has done for those who enjoy MMOs.

September 19, 2014 at 1:12 amI might check out Lightning Returns. I got bored of FFXIII fast and the only characters I liked were Lightning and Sazh.

September 19, 2014 at 1:13 amOh look S-E porting over another FF games. They have to milk it from somewhere.
Not to mention some of the worst series entry ones. Goody.

September 19, 2014 at 1:17 amYawn. Someone call me when they port something decent again, FF4 was a step in the right direction but no amount of graphics whoring will make me try FF13.
Now Final Fantasy Tactics? That’s something the PC crowd would enjoy. Maybe even the advance series, have a whole little bundle with mods and shit. It’ll be great.

September 19, 2014 at 1:18 amSquare Enix really seem to be embracing PC gamers. I’m a bit conflicted on whether I should buy their games as I’d like to encourage more Japanese developers to do the same but I’m honestly not interested in most of their titles.
