Animation studio SHAFT have revealed a premiere date for Virgin Punk, the brand new and original film series headed by acclaimed director Yasuomi Umetsu (Kite, Mezzo Forte).
The first story and film in the series, “Clockwork Girl,” is set to premiere on June 27th at the Cine Libre Ikebukuro in Tokyo and Theatre Umeda in Osaka.
The new film series is the first in roughly ten years with Umetsu at the helm directing, and he is also involved with planning and creating the original story.
The first film follows the female protagonist “Ubu”, a girl who chooses to become a bounty hunter though it showcases her suffering and both the desires and chaos that unfolds from the strong characters that surround her.
