Yakuza 5 Launching Mid-November in the West, “If All Goes to Schedule”

Sega has announced that Yakuza 5 will finally be coming west sometime in mid-November, “if all goes to schedule.” (Editor’s Note: Sega has changed the blog to just say TBA 2015, so we’ll see if this release window is a solid one).

The publisher talked up the game’s English localization over on their official blog:

“Unfortunately, it’s a little later than we would’ve liked, and a few weird development bugs that popped up in localization caused the delay,” Sega said on their blog. “Without getting too technical, there were just certain parts that didn’t like switching the Japanese text out for English, and we had to actually search through the source code to find a fix, taking more time than we expected. But! Everything is more or less back on track.”

Yakuza 5 originally shipped in Japan back in March of 2012.

Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza 6 were announced back during this year’s Tokyo Game Show. The former is a remake of the original Yakuza for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, while the latter is the next entry in the game, exclusively for PlayStation 4.
