Xenoblade Chronicles X had a Nintendo Direct broadcast earlier today where some new tidbits of information were confirmed for the game.

Nintendo confirmed the game is still on track for a 2015 release in the west. The game’s five continents now have English names, with their Japanese names in parentheses:

  • Primordia (the first area)
  • Sylvalum (the Continent of White Trees)
  • Cauldros (the Continent of Black Steel)
  • Noctilum (the Forest of Nightglow)
  • Oblivia (the Valley of Oblivion)

Also confirmed during the Nintendo Direct was the news that all five continents will be accessible from the get-go, meaning fans will be able to explore in any manner they wish. It’s worth mentioning the game’s world map was previously confirmed to be five times bigger than the one seen in the first game.

Four player cooperative play was also shown in the Nintendo Direct broadcast (shown above), and this is a good thing to keep in mind as some areas will have monsters entirely out of your current status – so tread carefully if you’re trying to explore. Finally, the game’s “Doll” mecha are known as “Skells” in English.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is launching in Japan next week, on April 29th, followed by a North American and European release some time later this year – exclusively on Wii U.
