We’ve learned a pretty staggering number pertaining to the scale of Monolith Soft’s upcoming sequel in Xenoblade Chronicles X.

In an interview with Edge magazine, Monolith Soft president Tetsuya Takahashi said that players will experience a world several times larger than the original Xenoblade Chronicles:

“Vehicles are called Dolls. They are five times larger than a person. So to get the same feel as Xenoblade Chronicles, the map would need to be five times bigger. The game world in X is in fact even bigger than that.”

So there you go – it’s certainly exciting to see they’re really approaching the scale of this game reasonably, especially considering how much emphasis is being put onto the mecha, or in this case, the Dolls.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is coming to Wii U sometime in 2015.
