Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition Time Attack Challenges Announced

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition

A new feature of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has been revealed, time attack battle challenges.

The news comes via a series of tweets from the game’s Japanese Twitter account [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. Using Twitter’s in-built Google Translate translation, we have learned of a new Time Attack mode being added to the game.

Accessed from special gates around the world, players can access challenges presented by the Nopon Archsage (translation: Silicon Era), possible the same one from the challenge battles in Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

As the name may imply, players are tasked with defeating a set of monsters as quickly as possible. The challenges available depend on the player’s progress in the story. Free challenges proceed as usual, while limited challenges have special conditions. Some battles may have multiple waves of monsters.

If players do well enough, they can earn Nopon Crystals. These can be exchanged for equipment and gems. Some equipment is also brand new. A gallery of of some of this new gear can be seen below.

You can find the rundown (via Nintendo) below.
