Though it’s more a case of “Cracking” than hacking, a user on the neogaf forums brought attention to the fact that Microsoft’s Xbox accounts on twitter and Instagram were taken over by a group known as the Syrian Electronic Army.
Though they had control of the accounts for three hours, they didn’t do much harm. The only really interesting thing to note is that the password for the accounts was “microsoft2” and the staffer in charge of them tried to make it stronger by changing it to “microsoft3”.
One would think someone working for a company such as Microsoft would make something a little more advanced. Perhaps they never learned how to craft better ones.
