Microsoft is raising prices of Xbox Series X and Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft has announced price hikes for both their flagship Xbox Series X console and their popular Xbox Game Pass subscription platform.

The Xbox Series X will be increasing its price in most countries on August 1st except in the USA, Japan, Chile, Brazil, and Colombia. Monthly pricing on Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will increase on July 6th in most countries except in: Norway, Chile, Denmark, Switzerland, and Saudi Arabia.

“We’ve held on our prices for consoles for many years and have adjusted the prices to reflect the competitive conditions in each market,” Kari Perez said to Verge, head of communications for Xbox.

Here’s the new pricing for both Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass:

  • Xbox Series X: £479.99 (UK), €549.99 (European markets), CAD $649.99 (Canada), and AUD $799.99 (Australia)
  • Xbox Game Pass: $10.99 / €10.99 / £8.99 from $9.99/month
  • Xbox Game Pass Ultimate: $16.99 / €14.99 / £12.99 from $14.99/month

It’s worth noting pricing for Xbox Series S and PC Game Pass will not be affected.

If you have an existing Game Pass monthly subscription, the new prices won’t take effect until August 13th, or September 13th in Germany. New Xbox Game Pass members will get the new prices immediately on July th, though yearly subscribers won’t see a price change until you renew.
