Microsoft has announced that Xbox One has been the top eighth-generation console as far as sales go in the United States, following its temporary price cut  two weeks ago.

“As we head into the busy holiday season Xbox One led generation 8 console sales in the US for the past two weeks,” says Microsoft’s devices and studios chief Yusuf Mehdi.

The price cut is running only until January 3rd, lowering the console’s price from $399 to $349, and this also includes all of the various hardware bundles out there.

Finally, Microsoft confirmed that over 10 million Xbox One consoles have been shipped to retailers worldwide.

I do wish Xbox could catch up a bit to PS4 (and it probably will thanks to the Halo collection) just to make PlayStation competitive again.

You do realize Sony is hurting finacially right? If the Playstation branch could have gone nuts with the early lead they had on the Xbox division they would have. Unfortunately its not that Playstation isnt competitive its that the rest of Sony is holding them back :(

Except Microsoft can only claim they shipped more. And they don’t know how many PS4s sold. And they refuse to release how many Bones sold.

So this doesn’t exactly mean anything.

I agree. Come to think of it the recent blunders are probably due to lack of finances.

If Playstation was successful then they wouldn’t ditch Vita in the dirt.
