[UPDATE]
It turns out this was an inaccurate posting, as the Xbox employee copied old pre-order information. We apologize for the confusion.
[ORIGINAL STORY]
Comcept’s Mighty No. 9 has been delayed a few times, the most recent of which pushing the game to a generic spring 2016 release window. We’re rapidly approaching the end of spring, and we still haven’t seen a peep from the game’s developer or publisher, Deep Silver.
Now, a new update to the game’s Xbox Live Store listing (via ICXM) suggests the Kickstarter-funded action platformer will be delayed again – to December of this year. “Xbox One game expected to release on December 2nd, 2016,” the new listing says.
Whenever the game does launch, it will release across PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Wii U – the handheld versions will come sometime later.
Consider this a rumor for now, as we haven’t gotten official clarification from Comcept or Deep Silver. We’ll update this post as new information arises.

April 26, 2016 at 9:55 amThis.
Get a $10,000 dollar team to work for X amount of time, and you can BS its a $1,000,000 team who tried too hard and hit unexpected hurdles.
And if the game is crap, who cares? Run off with the other $90,000 you embezzled.
What Ifune is struggling with is getting the X right, while not getting people to withdraw money (and somehow a third-rate community manager with an axe to grind didn’t help).
What Kickstarter is struggling with is zero liability. They wouldn’t even scare off decent projects! Just punish those who deliver NOTHING by the due date aside from extenuating circumstances, organize a “Kickstarter Court” for if projects don’t deliver. It’s not like all that money sitting in accounts generating interest wouldn’t be enough to pay for it all.
Random Dude
April 26, 2016 at 9:56 amRescued by some company, the kickstarter instead re-purposed for adding new feature for every milestone.

April 26, 2016 at 10:03 amThe really sad part is that the Kickstarter hasn’t bothered taking even one minute to update thousands of people who donated almost four million dollars since Jan 25th. Talk about spitting in their faces once you aquired their cash. You’d think by this point they’d be bothering to put out even a single update once a month, but apparently that’s too much effort in Inafune’s busy daily schedule. That’s a direct spit in the face move there.

April 26, 2016 at 11:13 amThe only reason why that kickstarter was so successful was due to the fact that almost everyone was in that “Fuck Capcom” mood at the time due to Capcom’s cancellation of MML3, I sure was one of them, and I regret it…
Also, the last kickstarter that I supported was the Yooka-Laylee one, but that one hasn’t disappointed me yet due to the fact that it’s the old RARE team that’s working on it, so I still have high hopes for it.

April 26, 2016 at 11:15 amGiven the EXTREMELY negative reactions from fans to the playable demo they released, maybe they’re actually taking the time to fine-tune things and turn it into something vaguely resembling what they originally promised.

April 26, 2016 at 11:24 amYeah, I never supported any more kickstarters after Yooka-Laylee (which hasn’t disappointed me yet)

April 26, 2016 at 11:26 amI’ll conceded a bit that the pledge givers probably need to do a bit of research and know the risks. However, the KS creators themselves also need to learn how to actually budget their time and money a lot better and one huge thing they need to do: COMMUNICATE.

April 26, 2016 at 11:36 amMentioning Yooka-Laylee brings up a good point, though… I don’t know if the lesson here is “don’t trust kickstarters”, as Mighty No. 9 is still the only one on there that I really REGRET backing.
Project Phoenix is also super-delayed, but at least they’re regularly posting updates and explaining themselves – and the updates do make it look like the final game is going to be worthwhile, which is more than can be said for MN9. And Shantae and River City Ransom Underground are both shaping up to be amazing when they finally come out.
I actually regret having been soured on the whole Kickstarter thing after MN9 and not having backed Yooka-Laylee or Iga’s Castlevania knock-off, as both of those look like they’re actually NOT scams.
So I guess the moral of the story isn’t “don’t trust kickstarters” after all, it’s just “don’t trust Inafune”.
Captain Vidya
April 26, 2016 at 11:46 amA second? He made, like, three more kickstarters. One for the animated series, one for that not-Megaman-Legends game, one for THAT game’s animated series. I don’t remember a second one for MN9, but if that’s true, then he’s done four kickstarters to ride the wave of “success” that his first one made that he has yet to deliver on.

April 26, 2016 at 1:05 pmI backed MN9 and Project Phoenix. Phoenix seems super delayed and I’m not sure that will release. The biggest problem I got with all of these Kickstarters are that they look absolutly nothing like the concept art they are showing.
I would not hope for too much for Bloodstained, not saying it will be bad but MN9 and Bloodstained both are made by Comcept.
If MN9 is shit and from what I have seen it is, I have my doubts they make a way better game with Bloodstained.
I also backed Shantae and that atleast looks like the concept art and since they already made a few Shantae games before I’m fairly certain that game will be atleast good.
InkBrush
April 26, 2016 at 1:05 pmI mean I am a rare fan but never really got to play Banjo. But I was really interested with YL cause that’s maybe the only full on 3D world adventure plat former that’s actually being made while Nintendo is most likely not going to do a real 3D Mario game again due to NSMB.

April 26, 2016 at 2:02 pmThe game’s already been completed for more than a year, but Con Man still says that they need to “polish” it.
Dark Link
April 26, 2016 at 2:03 pmI avoided it altogether. Tim Schafer and his company have been dead to me ever since GG started and he started to be a cuck for SJW feminazis.

April 26, 2016 at 2:23 pmYou know its a bad sign when FFXV gets released before your Megaman clone game.
But seriously, this is a complete joke if true. How does a simple 2D action platformer need that amount of time to fix bugs? This ain’t some open world bugthesda shit.

April 26, 2016 at 2:29 pmYo, if Persona 5 comes out this year, if Capcom actually starts making a new Megaman game without Inafune, and if Sega actually announces Sonic Adventure 3 before MN9 comes out, this would bring everything full circle, and it would be fucking hilarious.
Madbrainbox
April 26, 2016 at 2:30 pmYeah.I feel the same. But the KS for that game was in 2011 I think.I was still under the influence of PSychonauts which is a good game.I’ll avoid the second one.Don’t want my memories to be tarnished.
Foreign Horde
April 26, 2016 at 2:35 pmThe Vivian James game did that – well, he was “Business Man”, but if you entered the Megaman 2 Birdie Code (hold Jump and Attack while clicking the start button), he became Con Man and laughed at you.

April 26, 2016 at 2:41 pmBruh, Psychonauts 2 will not see the light of day. Tim’s just gonna spend all of the crowdfunding money like he always does.

April 26, 2016 at 2:49 pmI’m pretty sure it includes the actual lewds, but I may be wrong. To be honest the way the censor some of the stuff makes it even more humorous and fitting.

April 26, 2016 at 2:50 pmFish is a joke, but at least he didn’t abuse Kickstarter.

April 26, 2016 at 2:51 pmYeah, the online multiplayer wasn’t working. In a 2D platformer. That takes 3 years to create by “industry veterans”. It is beyond ridiculous at this point.

April 26, 2016 at 2:55 pmToo bad Kingdom Hearts 3 won’t be part of that hilarity.

April 26, 2016 at 3:27 pmFrom IXCM’s article:
“Update: It looks like an Xbox employee copied and pasted the old European preorder information onto the American site without updating anything. If you notice the time zone refers to EEST which is Eastern European Summer Time. Xbox Support also confirmed that this was outdated information and the staff handling the website posted inaccurate information.”

April 26, 2016 at 4:07 pmKickstarter in general is a really flawed system. It is essentially a donation box with no guarantee for the final product. Developers have no accountability and backers take all the risks of supporting a project.

April 26, 2016 at 4:08 pmThis game is never coming out is it? This whole thing was a scam wasn’t it?

April 26, 2016 at 6:52 pmInafune is probably praying for another delay because the second this game finally drops is the second he won’t be able play the “I’m totally the creator of Mega Man, remember Mega Man 2? I’m a game god developer who was oppressed by big bad Capcom. Remember Mega Man 2? Give me money! Remember Mega Man 2?” card anymore.
LaserCatsAreAwesome
April 26, 2016 at 7:14 pmLet’s be realistic here Sonic Adventure 3 would be a bigger trainwreck than MN9’s soulmate Sonic 4. I’d say instead that Sega announces a Sonic game that actually looks decent instead of more shitty Nintendo exclusives before MN9 comes out.

April 26, 2016 at 7:22 pmAt this rate bloodstained will come out first

April 26, 2016 at 9:01 pmAny Sonic game coming out could easily be a trainwreck, because you know, Sega and Sonic Team. Of course SA3’s not likely to happen anyway, so yeah. I’d be just as happy with a Sonic game that isn’t shit, but who knows if that will ever happen.

April 26, 2016 at 9:25 pmBut when is the release date of the next delay!?

April 26, 2016 at 9:27 pmCensored Rainbow Mika’s ass and Cammy’s camera angle. Fuck Capcom forever.
Mr0303
April 26, 2016 at 9:35 pmMy beef with them started long before that. First it was the vanilla version of SFIV that had SSFIV released an year later, then it was MVC3 followed by UMVC3 8 months later. Then it was the SFxTekken on disc DLC. Then it was Asura’s Wrath “True Ending DLC”. Then DmC happened.
I’ve cut them some slack since they released DMC4:SE without any major fuck ups, but the SFV censorship put them back on my shit list.

April 27, 2016 at 12:40 amI’ve heard differently with regards to Clover after a quick look. The studio was in charge of new IP but what they made didn’t reach Capcom’s expected sales levels so they were eventually relegated to developing sequels until they eventually fizzled out and were closed.
I can honestly see this happening instead of simply Inafune but then I suppose only Capcom knows for sure what was going on there.

April 27, 2016 at 8:53 pmYeah, I guess can wait another five centuries for this game to come out. It’ll be worth the wait.

April 28, 2016 at 5:05 pmThankfully I never spend money on this game in the first place. I was doubtful from the start concerning I wouldn’t be satisfied if it wasn’t mega man. Turns out not investing paid off.
