Microsoft have announced the Xbox Cloud Gaming Beta is available on PC for Xbox Insiders and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members.
The beta program is available in 22 countries, and can be accessed via the Xbox App on Windows 10 PC. This promises to let players access over 100 Xbox games, continue their saves from where they left off, and try games on Xbox Game Pass before downloading them to their console.
Further, this promises to function on any gaming PC “from brand-new budget computers to older machines with low specs.” All users need is a compatible controller (and to be part of the Xbox Insiders program or an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate member). The beta also offers controller and network status, social features, and inviting other players- “even those also playing on cloud without the game installed.”
Xbox Engineering Lead Eden Marie also stated on Twitter that Remote Play will also be coming to the Xbox App; to stream from Xbox Series X|S and older consoles to their PC for the first time. She also confirmed that users could play backward compatible games, and use the store via Remote Play.
Microsoft had previously announced they were bringing Xbox Series X|S exclusives to Xbox One via Cloud Gaming, and were working with smart TV manufacturers to “embed the Xbox experience directly;” for cloud gaming and Xbox Game Pass.
