When it comes to video games, the right soundtrack can make or break the experience. In early 2000’s WWE Games, player could upload their own music and give it to different wrestlers. With the release of the WWE 2K games, custom soundtracks became a thing of the past but WWE still continued to have reknowned artists be a part of WWE games. In recent years, the special guests artists changes from Rock and Metal style to a wider variety of genres. Now, WWE games has started to bring in some main stream artists would appeal to multiple wrestling fans. This month, WWE Games and 2K released the official WWE 2K25 soundtrack including special guest artists; some of these songs were songs that were used for PLEs during 2024.

WWE 2K25 Soundtrack Impressions
Before the game officially releases, we decided to listen to the soundtrack and let you know what we think.
Fuel is an interesting freestyle however it feels like it missing the wrestling essence. Black Flag Freestyle does have a wrestling feeling but all the profanity in it makes the song feel rather lackluster compared to Fuel. Suffocate definitely gives a wrestling amp-up feeling but those with a poor audio system or cheap headphones might not be able to fully understand what is being said; it is a song that would be fun to listen to once or twice but would get old fast. Halfway to Hell fits the Jelly Roll style but feels like it can be too preachy.
Arabi feels like it was included to reach Indian fans and rap fans; it feels like other songs that have been in WWE games based on sound, but the lyrics will leave some wanting to turn it off. Backbone does have a good wrestling feeling but could also fit in a Need for Speed game. PACKAPUNCH feels like it was inspired or created by the Beastie Boys or from the 90s era. Out of all the songs so far, it feels like it is the most deserving of being in a WWE game. Although Doblexxó has a good beat, the language barrier might be a turn-off.
Hurt You has an intensity to it in the intro and feels like it would blend well with Rhea Ripley’s theme song being played on the Jukebox. Hertz has an energetic vibe that can be good in the background to keep the energy up but you kind of zone out while listening to it. It’s Supposed to Hurt is high energy that feels like it could either be a wrestler’s theme song or the intro to one of the shows; it gives Smackdown vs Raw vibes and makes you miss those days. Ratatata is a high-energy song that will have you trying to decide if you want to headbang, dance, work out, or slam your opponent’s head into the mat; out of all the songs on this setlist, it is arguably our favorite.
Thin Gray Line feels like a rap song that was added to align with Jey Uso’s theme; unless you like Rap it is totally skippable and of minimal value. Only Pain’s guitar intro is similar to Seth Rollins’ Burn it Down theme. The instruments for the song give a metal/wrestler vibe but the lyrics feel like they are of no consequence; in a way, it feels like 2K went, oh what metal band can we get that is popular and has a vibe similar to a WWE theme. Last but not least, Curse has an energetic keep going vibe; the song feels like you could come back even when things are darkest.
