WWE 2K20 Plagued With Bugs, Sony Offers Refund on PS4 Copies

2K Sports’ WWE 2K20 has been suffering a litany of glitches and bugs. The situation has grown so bad, it seems Sony are offering refunds of the game on PlayStation 4.

Released on October 22nd of this year, users quickly discovered numerous glitches. These include, but are not limited to:

Characters contorting and clipping into the environment, characters warping around the ring, the AI winning matches under different conditions than stated, cutscenes showing players winning entirely different tournaments than the one they just entered, being unable to connect to servers, and corrupting save data. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14)

Soon the hashtag “FixWWE2K20” trended on Twitter, sharing more examples of glitches, and the frustrations of those who purchased the game.

At the game’s launch, the 2K Games Support Twitter account stated they were “receiving more tickets than normal. Rest assured: We’re doing everything we can to get to your case. Thanks for your patience!” On October 25th, the WWE Games official Twitter account issued a statement:

“We are listening closely to the feedback that’s been shared regarding WWE 2K20 and are aware of the concerns some players are reporting. We’re working hard to investigate these concerns and address them as necessary. We expect to have an initial patch ready in the next two weeks, with others to follow. Stay tuned to WWEGames social media channels for more information.”

Both GamesIndustry.biz and VGC are claiming Sony is offering refunds without citation. However, we have discovered some Twitter users who had managed to get a refund via PlayStation Support. Steam offers refunds, if the game has been played for less than two hours. Though other factors may also work in favor of or against a request for a refund. The game is also available on Xbox One.

It is worth noting while WWE 2K games used to be developed by Yukes, 2K Games ended their partnership in August 2019. WWE 2K20 was instead developed by Visual Concepts, who also developed NBA 2K20, which has also been having similar outcry over unskippable adverts, and lootbox mechanics heavily focused on gambling style marketing (in a game rated E for Everyone by the ESRB, and PEGI 3 in Europe).
