The Showcase of the Immortals is just around the corner with WrestleMania 39 taking place on April 1st and April 2nd. With Night One of WrestleMania 39 taking place tomorrow, we have decided to share with you the WWE 2K23 matches simulation results and our predictions for the event. Earlier this week, WWE shared with ESPN First Take the official Line-up for both nights of WrestleMania 39; however, they did not share what match would end night one. With the line-up how it is, it is hard to pinpoint what match will go proceed the next. Below are the matches that will take place each night.

WrestleMania 39 Simulation Results
For the WrestleMania 39 simulation, we used WWE 2K23. During our original set of simulations, the first three matches were decided by count out; because of this issue, we decided to turn off count outs, especially in title matches.
Austin Theory (c) vs. John Cena
In the first attempt at simulating the Austin Theory vs John Cena match, John Cena won via count out. In the second WWE 2K23 sim, we turned off count outs to make certain there was a definite winner.
In the simulation, the match only went four minutes with Cena winning the United States Championship. Theory started off the match with a barrage of strikes hitting Cena. After controlling the match for a minute, John Cena takes over the match and controls it by man-handling A. Theory outside the ring. As Cena attempts to get Theory back into the ring, Theory counters and throws Cena into the ring. Austin Theory then slingshots in to hit a dropkick on Cena; he then goes for a pin and Cena kicks out at one. Cena starts to fire back and hits the five moves of doom with a new move intertwined. Cena then hits the Five Knuckle Shuffle and follows it up with an Attitude Adjustment.
Cena wins the United States Championship in a quick match.
Predictions
John Cena vs Austin Theory can go either way. With Cena’s acting career mostly in post-production, it is possible that Cena wins the title and becomes a steady figure in WWE until Summerslam. If Austin Theory wins, his win will need to be decisive; he will also need to impress fans with a hard-fought match rather than a quick win. With this opening WrestleMania 39 on Night One, it can have time to breathe.
Austin Theory loses everything with a loss but gains credibility with a win.
Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs. Logan Paul
Seth Rollins starts the match by grappling with Logan Paul. As Seth attempts to slam him, Logan squirms out and attacks him from behind. Paul goes for an early pin onto Rollins, but Rollins kicks out. Paul gets cocky and taunts Rollins. Rollins then takes control of the match hitting multiple moves from the corners. As Rollins goes for a submission, Paul is able to counter and take control of the match. After a failed clothesline by Paul, Seth attempts to Powerbomb Paul but Paul rolls through to try and pin Rollins. Rollins is able to kick out after a one-count and then takes control back. Seth gets Paul onto the mat and hits a curb stomp. Seth goes for the pin and gets the win.
The simulated match only went for five minutes but was a back-and-forth match. Rollins winning in real-life is more than likely but the match will go longer than five minutes. We can expect a competitive match-up between the two with Jake Paul potentially getting involved. With Logan Paul’s contract rumored to be expiring, it makes no sense for Seth Rollins to lose.
By the end of the show, we expect Seth Rollins to beat Logan Paul.
Trish Stratus, Lita, and Becky Lynch vs. Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai, and Iyo Sky)
In the 6-Woman tornado tag match, chaos reigns supreme. Lita decides to target Dakota Kai while Becky Lynch handles Iyo Sky outside the ring. Bayley is able to hold her own against Trish Stratus. Once Dakota Kai is able to fight off Lita, she throws Lita back into the ring. Bayley then throws Trish outside of the ring and works with Dakota to take Lita down. Kai goes for the pin and Lita is able to grab the ropes after a 2 count. Becky gets back into the ring to help Lita out, but Bayley grabs her and hits her with a DDT. Trish gets back in the ring to help Lita out and locks up with Dakota Kai. Bayley grabs her from behind and slams her to the ring.
Trish starts to mount a comeback and allows Becky to get back in the ring and attempt a crucifix pin on Bayley. Meanwhile, Lita is outside with Dakota Kai, and Powerbombs her to the ground. Bayley is able to hit a BayleytoBelly slam on Becky but the pin is interrupted before a one count. Lita takes Bayley outside, but Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky team up against Becky. Becky then rolls out of the ring but Iyo Sky follows her with a suicide dive. Trish and Lita are working over Bayley but Dakota and Iyo go to help her out.
Damage Control takes control of the ring by targeting Lita, but Trish and Becky are able to get back in. Lita takes out Iyo Sky and Trish throws Bayley out of the ring. Becky then hits a manhandle slam on Dakota and gets the three count.
Predictions
Now, the actual card says it’s a 6-woman tag team match meaning tags will most likely be involved. Damage Control most likely will lose to Lita, Trish, and Becky Lynch. Sadly, since the formation of Damage Control, they have not been an effective team. Bayley being the supposed leader has done the worst and we can see Iyo and Dakota turning on Bayley to lose her the match.
Men’s Showcase Match
Braun Strowman and Ricochet vs. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) vs. Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis) vs. The Viking Raiders (Erik and Ivar) (with Valhalla) should be an interesting match if given a bit of time. This simulated match took over 10 minutes to watch and a variety of weapons got involved. Sadly, most of the team’s big moves were not utilized. Shockingly, The Street Profits won by Dawkins hitting a DDT on Otis onto a steal chair.
This simulation doesn’t do the match the justice that it deserves. This match will either be the preshow kick-off match or a rest match in the middle of the show. Although Gable and Otis are good heels, they don’t seem like viable contenders. The Street Profits are a good tag team but seem more like number-one contender challengers rather than facing the champions directly.
The deciding factor will be does Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens beat The Usos. If they do, then either the Usos will get a rematch or have to fight a face team to get back there. If the Usos retain, then the Street Profits or Strowman and Ricochet are viable contenders.
At the end of the match, we can see either the Street Profits or the Viking Raiders winning the match.
Smackdown Women’s Championship
In what has probably been the most one-sided rivalry, Charlotte Flair (c) will take on Royal Rumble winner Rhea Ripley. In the simulation, despite Dominic accompanying Rhea to the ring, he does not get involved in the match. In fact, it seems like his character is basically frozen in place.
The match starts off with Rhea taking control of the match. The tide of the fight changes when Rhea throws Charlotte out of the ring but Charlotte is able to counter slamming her off the barricades. After Charlotte throws Rhea back into the ring, she pays the consequences for taking a breather. Rhea gets a few strikes in and attempts to hit a slam but Charlotte is able to counter. Charlotte ends up winning by hitting Natural Selection on Rhea and pinning her.
For a simulation, this match was rather back and forth but a bit underwhelming. We expect that Rhea will win the Smackdown Woman’s Championship based on how WWE has been positioning her. Charlotte’s promos have been lackluster and Rhea has had a lot more screen time. After being sidelined last year with a concussion, we expect that Rhea will finally get her revenge on Charlotte Flair.
Mysterio Family Fight
Rey Mysterio vs. Dominik Mysterio
The Rey Mysterio vs Dominik Mysterio simulation was rather disappointing. Dominik started the match with a cross-body. The game’s physics engine had an issue where Dominik went to grab Rey when he was springboarding and the game did not register it allowing Rey to hit him. Mysterio ended up hesitating to allow Dominik to get up and get back into the fight. Rey kips up while Dominik is taunting and hits a springboard bulldog onto his son. Rey ends up winning by hitting a sunset flip.
Predictions
Rey Mysterio vs Dominik Mysterio should be a rather straightforward match. If Judgment Day interferes, Legado Del Fantasma has offered to come to Rey’s aid. On Smackdown, Rey presented Legado Del Fantasma with LWO shirts.
We expect that Rey Mysterio will beat his son at WrestleMania 39. This will either set up a match at Summer Slam or WrestleMania 40.
WWE TagTeam Championships
Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn vs The Usos
What is potentially the last match of night one, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will take on the Usos for the Unified Tag Team titles. This is WWE’s second-longest story in 2022, would Sami Zayn stand by his brother in wrestling or his new family? At first, Zayn was willing to stand by the Bloodline but when Roman demanded that Sami hit Owens with the chair and take him out, Sami had enough. This led to the Bloodline turning its back on Sami and Sami getting the closest to dethroning Roman Reigns.
For the WWE 2K23 simulation, the Zayn and Owens vs Usos fight only took six minutes. This match was a true blood match with both teams grabbing weapons from underneath the ring and going to town. Whether it was a ladder, Sledgehammer, chair, bat, or kendo stick, it was used on one of the wrestlers. The simulation ended with Kevin Owens hitting a stunner on Jimmy Uso and going for the pin while Sami Zayn hit Jey Uso with a chair.
Unless something unexpected happens, we expect that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will dethrone the Usos for the Tag Team titles. If the Usos manage to retain, we can’t see who would face them next unless WWE brought in new talent to face them. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens winning the titles would be the feel-good story of Wrestlemania 39.
What do you think will be the outcomes of WrestleMania 39? Do you think the WWE 2K23 simulation was accurate? Once the dust clears, we will share with you the WrestleMania 39 results.
