Team17 Digital have announced the release date of Worms Rumble; December 2020 on Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and a crossplay open beta November 6th.
As previously reported, the game features up to 32 players fight in real-time, rather than turn-based matches the series is known for. The cross-platform arena-based matches include Deathmatch and Last Worm Standing. Along with returning weapons, new weapons will also be coming to the game.
Players can partake in challenges and seasonal events via The Lab. They may also customize their worm via cosmetics unlocked through XP and in-game currency.
The announcement on Steam also detailed what is shown in the new trailer, including the Portal Park map (a sports stadium with underground train-tracks and a map-altering portal, and mobility gadgets. These feature the returning Grappling Gun (essentially the Ninja Rope) and Jetpack.

Further, the Steam announcement explained how some cosmetics will be available from the start, while others are unlocked as you progress through the ranks, use weapons, and complete challenges. Those who pre-order the game on Steam will earn the New Challenger cosmetic pack.
