Sony has announced total worldwide shipments for PlayStation 4 have reached 102.8 million units.
The fourth home console from the company is now the second best-selling home game console of all time, only surpassed by its predecessor, the PlayStation 2, which currently rests around 155 million units. The new figures were posted in their latest financial results. The Wii is currently third best in units sold, roughly around 101.63 million units.
A total of 2.8 million PlayStation 4 consoles were shipped in the second quarter of FY 2019, which is roughly 1.1 million down from the previous year’s shipments. Sony altered their previous forecast of selling 15 million PlayStation 4 consoles in FY 2019 down to 13.5 million consoles.
