Blizzard Entertainment have announced the Chains of Domination update for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands during BlizzCon 2021.
The content update for the latest expansion takes place after the defeated of Sire Denathrius, but the power of the Maw still grows. While the Covenants will take the fight to the Jailer, Sylvanas Windrunner has brought a new ally to aid him.
As the players return to the Maw and learn of the Jailer’s plans, they will have new allies at their side, and regain the ability to ride mounts. Meanwhile, the Jailer seeks a “key” to fulfill his goal, and has pulled Korthia, the City of Secrets, into the Maw to achieve it. Among the many mysteries and strangeness of that from In-Between, the Jailer is looking for the secrets of the First Ones.
As players explore new parts of the Maw and Korthia, they can earn two mounts; a spectral horse with spiked armor, and a giant bony hand. New places to raid include the Sanctum of Domination; featuring 10 bosses such as the Eye of the Jailer, Tarragrue, Kel’Thuzad, and the Banshee Queen.
There is also a new mythic-only mega-dungeon, Tazavesh: the Veiled Market. Along with eight bosses, the bazaar will have foes among its mysteries. These include “dastardly assassins, four-armed broker guards, an infinite pirate dragon” and more; all as you try to stop one of the brokers from unleashing the power of a stolen artifact. Players can of course earn new weapons, pets, and mounts.
Players will also enter deep into the Jailer’s territory and Torghast, the Tower of the Damned. Players will have access to new powers to fight new foes and evade traps.
By completing enough Covenant activities and campaign chapters, players can also unlock flying in the Shadowlands; along with flying mounts based on their Covenant. Further support for a Covenant also unlocks new cosmetic armor sets of four different colors (and further tinted); and available in cloth, leather, mail, and plate.
The update will also add Season 2 to Shadowland’s PVP. Along with domination-themed affix in Mythic Keystone Dungeons and increased item level rewards, PvP Honor Talents have been refreshed to revitalize less used talents. New PvP seasonal rewards include new coloration of Gladiator and Mythic keystone mounts, and new Vicious Gorm mounts themed around the Alliance or Horde.
