World of Warcraft Classic Launches August 27

Blizzard Entertainment has announced the release date for World of Warcraft Classic.

The vanilla-content version of their flagship MMORPG is launching on August 27th, 2019.

Blizzard also confirmed they will host a series of stress tests over the next few months, leading up to the launch of the old-school version of their MMO. The first test runs from MAy 22nd to the 23rd, followed by June 19-20 and finally July 18-19.

Participants for the stress tests will be selected from users who have an active subscription for the MMORPG, and opt in for the tests in their Blizzard Account Management page. Character creation for the classic release will go up on August 13th, letting players plan out their new (or old?) builds – as many things have changed since the original release.
