The World Ends With You: Final Remix Announced for Nintendo Switch

Nintendo and Square Enix have announced The World Ends With You: Final Remix for Nintendo Switch.

The new high-definition version of the game will launch sometime this year, and it will feature both touch controls and Joy-Con controls – as well as a new epilogue scenario that “gets right to the heart of the story.”

You can find the game’s page on here on Nintendo.com.

I liked TWEWY, but it took me awhile to get use to the dual battle system which I didn’t like very much. I wouldn’t mind if they changed that.

I kind of wonder how the added scenario will be. I can imagine it either just being a new conclusion to the story or a way to build on the original ending to lead into a sequel.

    The disappointing announcement this direct.

    TWEWY sucks.

So how does this work with just the one screen? Didn’t the original DS version extensively use the second screen during combat?

Just started this on DS. Didn’t want to delete the last save file so just breezing through with chapter select.

An overhaul of top screen fighting and multiple save files are what the port could use. Also an optional ability to lower stats other than level/health.

Could just be a split across the screen. From what I’ve played I hope they do a bit more because it feels pointless the control the top screen most of the time

    >DS on the go
    >TWEWY on my TV
What a time to be alive.

Android/iOS version was one screen, look at that
They threw out the dual controlling thing, basically controlling both characters on one screen, extremely easier to control because the 2nd person just jumps in and they can’t “die” but as consequence you only have half an HP gauge (ds game both characters shared one health gauge)
Any part of the game that used two screens doesn’t (some bosses were easier to deal with)

If it’s like the phone versions it’ll be way easier to control

I’d be happy if it was on ps4 also, or on android even, not a switch fan

I hope it’s not a horrible tease like the android version ending (which shows that girl there for a few seconds that’s it)

    Okay… Why?

The game was designed (top to bottom) to use the DS’s features, and now you “port” it to a console that is missing said features. Why not release it on the 3DS!?

They can still make the game so you can control each character using each Joycon, at least that way players can still use both characters at the same time

One of the best announcements of the Mini Direct, actually, it was so good to be real that I had to double check to see if the Mini Direct I was watching was the real deal

Except the original had you use the touch screen to use your special abilities, for example, swipe horizontally, swipe vertically, tap on enemies, draw circles each corresponded to a different attack.

I mean, so much will have to be redesigned that it might as well be a completely new game, so why bother with a port?
