Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap Lets You Switch Between Modern and Classic 8-bit Visuals

Publisher DotEmu and developer Lizardcube have announced a new feature in their upcoming Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap remake.

The remake of Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap will let you switch between the modern visuals, as well as the 8-bit retro graphics at any time. Featured above, you can view a new trailer showcasing the difference in visuals between the two modes.

In case you didn’t notice – the retro feature also toggles the game’s audio+music to match its 8-bit visuals, giving you the full throwback effect. The publisher also confirmed that you’ll be able to enter passwords from the original 1989 game, to load your save game

Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap is launching across PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One sometime this spring.
