Game*Spark Publishing and developer 59studio have announced Wizardry: The Five Ordeals launches via Early Access in December 2021, following its previous delay.
While Wizardry: The Five Ordeals launches via Early Access on December 17th, the game was originally planned to release in June 2021 for Windows PC (via Steam). The game’s editor mechanic will not be available at the early access launch, however they are aiming to make sure it releases by the end of 2022.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to former users who were looking forward to the new editor, as well as to new users who were considering starting their own adventure sooner rather than later. As previously announced, the game will be launched in Early Access, as the editor is not functional for the time being and there are many items that cannot be adjusted,” the companies said in the update.
Both companies noted the early access release will still have its five official scenarios that can be “played for dozens of hours or more each,” and will also support “converted scenarios from previous versions of scenarios that existed on the official servers at no additional cost.”
Furthermore, extra content like the official scenario downloadable content “Prisoner of the Battles” and “the Absence of Misericordia” is being considered for release as a result of the above changes.
