XSEED’s dungeon crawling RPG Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls will curiously not be available through online store Good Old Games (GOG).

While the release date was confirmed via the official XSEED Twitter account, one user () asked if the game would be available on GOG. XSEED confirmed they attempted to get it on their, but the game did not meet the requirements:

“We were interested in putting Wizardry on GOG but it is a curated platform and Wizardry did not meet store requirements. You can pick it up on Steam or the Humble Store.”

This is curious, considering past games in the franchise have been available on GOG, including Wizardry 6 + 7 and Wizardry 8. This is not the first time a game not getting onto GOG has been intriguing. While the store specializes in retro and more niche titles, they rejected classic RPG Grimoire.

What do you think? What do you think GOG’s standards are? Should they allow this game onto their platform? Sound off in the comments below!

Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls launches May 29th for Windows PC (via Humble Store and Steam). It is also currently available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and iOS.
