Witness a Mind-Blowing Live Action Trailer for War Thunder

Gaijin Entertainment has revealed a new live action trailer for War Thunder, their World War II online combat game.

Featured above, the cinematic trailer depicts a variety of weapons, vehicles, aircraft, and of course – soldiers of varying nations all battling it out to reign supreme on the battlefield. The song is called “Do Not Hurry,” and it’s sang by Anna German. The video was shown off at this year’s Moscow Comic Con expo, which took place this past weekend.

For clarity’s sake, the game itself features a range of vehicles, weapons, and locations inspired from conflicts ranging from the Spanish Civil War – all the way to the Korean War. The above video is specifically targeted on an offensive between the Germans and the Russians that lasted six months, during a time when Germany advanced on Moscow in 1941.

War Thunder is currently in open beta on both PC and Mac, while the Playstation 4 version has been available sine June of this year.

Something is way off with this trailer o.O

I don’t like it, I don’t like it how russians are treated as a good, heroic and
victimized side. That’s not how it was, and it should never be depicted like
this even in commercial directed to russian audience.

Russia and Nasi Germany were countries which BOTH started second world war. Both were aggressors, both are as guilty! (see Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact) Germany learned their lesson, they do not try to falsify history they know that they had few mad people… and it is fine! on the other hand Russians are saying over and over again that they were good side in this conflict. AND THEY WERE NOT! They are the ones who started invasion, they are the one who occupied for 50 years eastern Europe!

Poor people my ass! For some it might be part of long of forgotten history, but for those of us from eastern Europe it is not! My grandfather lives just because when he was fleeing ruined city he was traveling with his older sister, young beautiful girl… you can imagine what was the price for their lives when Russian’s soldiers stopped them.

Those were not people. Those were svolochi!

And btw. Anna German was a Pole songstress… whose father was killed by NKVD. So yeah… they love her… but don’t want to know what happened in her life.

My grandmother was born on the border of Poland and Nazi Germany, and was there when the Nazis invaded. The only reason why her family survived is because most of them were German born, before they moved to Poland.

I’m totally there with you that while I loved the music/song and the production quality of the trailer, it was definitely very…. odd how they portrayed the Russians. That’s also why I made a note that this particular trailer was shown off during Russia Comic Con, and it’s also worth noting that Gaijin Entertainment is a Russian developer.

It’s not really matter of hate.

    Rather “truth”

Russians still believes that world war started when Hitler invaded Russia, they tend to forget that they started the war with him on their side. And they were not aggressors but saviors, they didn’t occupy Eastern Europe but “saved” it. (likewise now they are not invading Ukraine… they are “saving” it). History repeating itself, and one way to prevent it is to know the truth.

Look if it was really matter of simple hate, than I would probably hate also Germany right? And I do not. I have sincere appreciation towards them. They are aware of sins of their grandfather and are ashamed of it. You need to have great courage to admit things like that! They are stronger because dealt with their own history.

On the other hand, Russians do everything to falsify history. And that trailer is just part of it.

    “Past is Past”
    not really

But whatever, I don’t feel like talking with you will change your opinion. I do not hate russians, I’m against russian propaganda. I grew up when my country was still part of commie block.. it’s not history for me.

Why would they make a game with such a poor representation of themselves? Do you see how that makes no sense?

… are you for real? I really can’t say if you are serious or joking.

So do you think that if Germans would make game about 2nd world war they would try to depict nazists as good guys? Heck no! They would stick to the truth, they would show how bad was war and why it should never ever happen again.

Can you imagine what would happen if Germans would try to make game in which nazists are poor victims of alliance? Do you realize that what you are telling make no sense at all?

The only thing that matters is TRUTH. You can’t alter history just because you can’t face your own past. Hell, even my country did many bad things against other countries and I am ashamed of it!

Listen I really don’t hate Russians. I don’t flip out as soon as I am forced to play as Russian soldier. As a fact Russian campaign from first Call of Duty is one of my most beloved campaigns in shooters genre. But that’s the thing it was objective, there wasn’t good side nor bad side. You weren’t treated as hero, you were just treated as a cannon fodder. Rifle for one soldier, ammo clip for another.

    Truth! That’s what I expect!

The truth according to who? You? Your history book written by the victors? Were you there?

Hmm…. are you Russian? Well they are grew up listening to propaganda so maybe that’s why you are not making any sense.

Well… sorry after what you said I can’t treat seriously.

    Victors? Russia was victorious country.

Was I there? not really, but my ancestors were. My great grandfather was killed by shot in head with others like him who were taken to prisoner of war camp, typical for Russians right? Few of womans from my family were raped by russians soldiers. My grandfather was repressed after WW just becasue he didn’t join commies. And I spend my early childhood in semi-depended state, where everything valuable produced in my country had to be delivered to Russia.

Truth is one. And that trailer is just propaganda material.

Maybe think of it this way. Russian politics is what dictates russian soldiers, but is it then the russian soldiers who are inherently ‘evil’ in some way compared to germans? They are not. This trailer also doesn’t depict them like this, it doesn’t depict any side as cruel, just one of the sides as heroic.

You deny it is a matter of hate but I think it definitely is. You can’t stand anything that has to deal with russian soldiers when the VAST MAJORITY of the eastern european suffering is not because of the war but of the political invasion choices that the communist party made after it.

Also, just about every modern game is similar propaganda material for the US army. Every. Single. One. But nobody bats an eye, and here we are with a shitstorm.
