The ultimate controversy: Who is the better woman for Geralt, the raven-haired Yennefer or the fiery Red-headed Triss Merigold? There have been some hotly debated threads about this on various forums I frequent, but as a devoted fan I never pay much attention to them…since it’s obvious Triss is the better woman. After all, I didn’t spend two games romancing gaming’s most independent and kick-ass sorceress for nothing.
It seems the mass of Merigold fans out there are more powerful than the Yennefer brigade, because CD Projekt Red’s community manager Marcin Momot just let loose the news that new dialog will be added to the Triss Romance that will improve it based on fan feedback.
Having went the Triss route during my play through of The Witcher 3, I was fairly pleased with it myself. Getting that first real kiss from her was a very touching moment, but I could definitely see some room for improvement. Not to give away any spoilers, but I tend to agree with fans who want more NPCs to recognize your romantic choice and perhaps have some sort of dialog with her before the final battle. The idea of her talking with Ciri and bonding with her (in a sisterly fashion) has also been presented by fans.
No word yet on exactly what these changes will entail, but apparently it’s now being handled. Naturally, readers of the books have expressed mild anger, considering lore supports Geralt picking Yennefer, but since when has that stopped fans?
