Witcher 3 Patch 1.05 Adds Humorous Anti-Exploit Feature

So you desperately need more gold in The Witcher 3 and you notice that the seashell exploit (wherein you buy seashells and sell the pearls in them for considerably more than you spent) has been squashed. That’s fine…let’s do what everyone else is doing and murder cows for their hides then rest so they respawn and do it all over again.

Well, CD Projekt Red anticipated this, apparently, because a new feature has been added where a demonic cow god is summoned to deal with you if you murder enough of his minions.

This is similar to the Divinity 2 “killer rabbit” and Croteam’s immortal copy protection scorpion, though in the latter case it was more of a punishment for illegal activities.

There is more to the recent 1.05 patch though, and you can see a full list of these changes on the official website. The consoles have yet to get this update, but will receive it sometime soon as 1.04.
