Witcher 3 Patch 1.05 Adds Humorous Anti-Exploit Feature

So you desperately need more gold in The Witcher 3 and you notice that the seashell exploit (wherein you buy seashells and sell the pearls in them for considerably more than you spent) has been squashed. That’s fine…let’s do what everyone else is doing and murder cows for their hides then rest so they respawn and do it all over again.

Well, CD Projekt Red anticipated this, apparently, because a new feature has been added where a demonic cow god is summoned to deal with you if you murder enough of his minions.

This is similar to the Divinity 2 “killer rabbit” and Croteam’s immortal copy protection scorpion, though in the latter case it was more of a punishment for illegal activities.

There is more to the recent 1.05 patch though, and you can see a full list of these changes on the official website. The consoles have yet to get this update, but will receive it sometime soon as 1.04.

Yeah…don’t get why people/devs are so concerned with single-player cheats. I understand the need with games like demon souls, dark souls, and bloodborne where single-player and multi-player mingle.

But hey not the end of the world, and the devs perogative. :)

There are people at their forums making all kind of claims about balancing.

Is like every single one of the want the game tailor made for their play style. Others seems they never have play a RPG that wasn’t an MMO.

I guess they throw a bone for this people from time to time.

I shouldn’t be surprised either, but I get spoiled.
When the series was less know the people at the forums was mostly seasoned RPG players.
Now, the witcher is mainstream and is not the same anymore.

you’ve got to admit, having an item that can be resold for more than it cost to buy is kind of stupid

You just know some eager graphics guy modeled up a demonic cow, gave it animations and attacks and such, and showed it to his superiors. And they told him, “This is silly, there’s no place for this in the game.”

And then a few months down the line they come back to him and say, “Hey, so, it turns out…”

    It’s an exploit in a single-player game.

    They’ve always been bizzare.
