[UPDATE: we have official confirmation from Idea Factory International that Amazon’s release date is correct. The release dates are as follows: May 19th in North America (retail and digital); May 22nd in Europe (retail); May 27th in Europe (digital).]

We knew previously that Idea Factory International would be bringing Compile Heart’s Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed West this Spring. Now we’ve discovered, according to Amazon, that the game is due for release on the Playstation Vita on May 19 in the West.

Here’s how the game’s described on Amazon:

Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed, the first-ever foray into the 3D action hack ‘n’ slash genre for the Hyperdimension Neptunia universe, is coming exclusively on the PlayStation Vita. Featuring new playable characters, as well as customizable equipment and over-the-top skills that haven’t been seen in previous Neptunia games, this game has something to offer old series fans and new fans alike. […]

  • Street Brawling!: For the first time ever, your favorite Neptunia characters will have to hack ‘n’ slash their way through waves of enemies in real time! In the free-roaming stages, you’ll get to create chain combos both on the ground and in the air.
  • Two-Person Party: With the Dual System, you’ll be able to switch between two characters on the battlefield. Balance out each character’s strengths and weaknesses to create the ultimate battle duo, and even get some new playable characters.
  • Let’s Get Physical!: The heat of battle can cause some wear and tear on your outfits. When you experience a “Costume Break,” your outfits will tear, lowering your defense but increasing your critical rate and EXE Drive Gauge.
  • Fill up the EXE Drive Gauge in order to clear the room with two tiers of special attacks, and you might just get a helping hand from your friend later on to perform some super special attacks! Enjoy Japanese and English voices along with English text.

The spin-off game has been rated by the ESRB for the PC, but a port has not officially been announced yet.
