Nacon and Cyanide Studio have shared a new trailer for Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood at IGN’s Summer of Gaming event.
Based on IGN’s coverage, the game is based on the World of Darkness roleplaying universe, and Werewolf: The Apocalypse tabletop game. Earthblood is an action-RPG. The game had been cancelled numerous times before this iteration.
Thanks to the official website, we know the game is based around banished werewolf Cahal, attempting to destroy the corporation who have destroyed his homeland.
Werewolves are the defenders of Gaia- Mother Earth, who is being killed by a cosmic force called the Wyrm. The Wyrm has far more mortal assistance through corporations like Endron and Pentex, destroying the environment.
Cahal chose a life of exile from the Fianna Tribe due to losing control of his “Rrage.” While seeking his lost daughter, he learns that his old tribe is in trouble.
The game takes advantage of Cahal’s three forms. As a human he can interact with people, as a wolf he can sneak around undetected, and as a werewolf he can unleash his Rrage and devastate foes. However, if you fail to contain your Rrage “it can destroy you once again by letting the Wyrm enthrall consume your soul.”
You can find the new cinematic trailer below.
You can find the full rundown (via the official website) below.
A RUTHLESS STRUGGLE TO SAVE MOTHER EARTH
Gaia – Mother Earth – is dying. Ravaged by mankind’s endless hunger, she is losing the struggle against the Wyrm, a cosmic force of decay and destruction. Made manifest in the corporation Endron, the servants of the Wyrm stand poised to feast on the corpse of nature herself.
The Wyrm, a corrupting entity, is winning the war against Gaia, Mother Earth. Pentex, a multinational corporation that serves the Wyrm, is controlling the world through its subsidiaries.
A QUEST FOR REDEMPTION
A former protector of Gaia, born under a full moonthe Auspice of Ahroun and proud werewolfWarrior of the Fianna Tribe, Cahal chose exile after losing control of his devastating Rrage. While searching for his missing daughter, Cahal discovers that his old pack tribe is in danger, and he must come to its aid.
ONE HERO, THREE FORMS
Each form has its advantages: the wolf can sneak around undetected, Cahal as a human can interact with other people, and the half-wolf Crinos can unleash its inhuman Rrage to tear enemies apart.
Your worst enemy is yourself: if you don’t contain your Rrage, it can destroy you once again by letting the Wyrm enthrall consume your soul.
Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood is coming to Windows PC (via the Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
