We’ve learned that yet another third party character may be coming to Super Smash Bros. on the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

The news comes from a tease, via the creative director of Wayforward Technologies, Matt Bozon, who said the following in a tweet:

“Wow! Shantae sharing space with gaming’s greatest icons!! Thank you very much @NintendoAmerica. See you in Smash ;)”

File this as a rumor for now – this is far from an official confirmation, although it’s certainly interesting considering the manner in which Bozon clearly teases her addition.

The latest game in the series, Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse, was made available on the Wii U eShop last December.
