Watch Eli Roth’s Version Of Dark Souls III in New Animated Trailer

In an interesting bit of pre-launch hype generation, Bandai Namco has enlisted film director and producer Eli Roth to craft an animated trailer for their upcoming RPG, Dark Souls 3. Known for his gory work in Hostel, Cabin Fever, and the movie which skewered modern “Clicktivist” faux-concern hipster culture, The Green Inferno, Roth must have seemed to be the perfect man to take on this project.

Titled simply “The Witches”, the trailer creates a scene where a very unlucky knight runs afoul of three rather hungry witches who delight in torturing the pour soul.

Accompanying the trailer is the above linked “making of” documentary that has Eli Roth and his team discussing how the project came to life as well as giving fans plenty of concept art to pour over. Roth stresses that he enjoyed working on the short and is eager to do more.

Dark Souls 3 launched in Japan back on the 24th of March, but the rest of the globe will have to wait for its worldwide release on the 12th of April.
