Despite the Ubisoft developed Watch Dogs being delayed into this year, it keeps showing up on various retailers in what seems to be a guessing game of when the game will finally be ready for launch.
Now, yet another retailer has listed the game a month after the previous listing, on April 18th. Gamesonly is an Australian retailer known for the accuracy of its listings, so this definitely seems like the real deal. One thing you might have noticed about that date is that it’s doesn’t look like a placeholder.
Watch Dogs has come under fire recently in the light of a trademark scandal where an unknown third party impersonated Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot and filed for an abandonment of the Watch Dogs trademark. After the file was honored and the mark was abandoned, Ubisoft promptly filed against it and demanded to have the mark reinstated. This was eventually made possible, and the mark was given back to Ubisoft.
After all of this, it seems like its more than just retailers who are probing Ubisoft for clarification on the game’s current status.
