WATATEN!: an Angel Flew Down to Me – Precious Friends opens in theaters this fall

Wataten: An Angel Flew Down from Heaven

The upcoming movie WATATEN!: an Angel Flew Down to Me – Precious Friends will premiere in Japanese theaters this fall.

Beginning in 2016 from creator Nanatsu Mukunoki; Wataten!: An Angel Flew Down to Me is ongoing and serialized in Comic Yuri Hime. An anime series began airing in 2019 from studio Doga Kobo, an animation studio known for their work on YuruYuri, Himouto Umaru-chan, and The Helpful Fox Senko-chan.

Wataten!: An Angel Flew Down to Me is a slice-of-life and shojou ai (Girls’ Love) series following college student Miyako. Miyako is an otaku that makes cosplay outfits, and wants to become a fashion designer. When her younger sister Hinata brings her friend Hana over, Miyako endeavors to get closer to her in order to get her to try on the outfits she designs.

The film was announced back in 2020 an untitled “anime project,” and confirmed to be a film for theatrical release last year. The new film, called Precious Friends, will follow the daily adventures of the college student Miyako, as she spends her time with her little sister and her friends.

At the time of publishing, an English release for the film has yet to be announced.
