For the longest time, developer inXile games has been saying that their classic CRPG sequel Wasteland 2 would be hitting digital outlets by the end of the month. Though no deviation had been made from the “late August” date for many months, it seems in what will be the final pre-launch progress update on their Kickstarter, inXile has said what we knew all along:
- Before we get into the fun stuff, a quick note on the release date. It’s pretty likely that we will slip into the first or second week in September due to fulfillment of the physical goods and discs. We will give an exact date as soon as we know it.
Oh wait, that’s not such a bad delay. At least in this writer’s opinion, anyway.
Considering that the PC (Risen 3, Shadowgate, Gauntlet) already has a few oldschool RPGs due this month, I could see where this might actually benefit them when it comes to attracting bored impulse buyers. Or, well, maybe I’m over-thinking it.
Either way, between all the PS3, 3DS and PC RPGs coming out in the next few months, it looks like gamers are going to have a hard time fitting everything in. Maybe a longer delay might be a good idea. Like, say 2015.
