Steel Sky Productions have released a pair of new warband DLCs for their turn-based tactical card game, Warhammer Underworlds: Online.
The two new warbands are digital adaptations of the warbands included in the tabletop game’s upcoming starter box. The first of these is The Storm of Celestus, a band of three Stormcast Castigators accompanied by their loyal gryph-hound companion, Sleek.
Like all Stormcast Eternals; the Storm of Celestus are a hardy, elite warband, but have a larger focus on ranged combat than other Stormcast warbands. Sleek can quickly move up the field grabbing objectives, while the rest of the warband hammers enemies from afar with their Thunderhead Greatbows.
You can find the rundown of the DLC (via Steam) below:
Drakan Celestus, accompanied by his loyal gryph-hound and an elite retinue of Castigators, is tasked with the investigation of the curse that has taken hold of the city of Shadespire. Unlock this warband and play as Storm of Celestus in Warhammer Underworlds: Online now.
THE WARBAND
- 4 fighters strong, this warband consists of three elite Castigators, and Celestus’ loyal gryph-hound companion.
- The fighters in this warband inspire when they successfully use the Thunderhead Greatbow or Beak and Claw attack actions!
- Each Castigator has a bonus if they’re holding an objective – stand your ground and use this to your advantage!
TIPS & TRICKS
- Sleek the gryph-hound can move far and fast, allowing you to get into position quickly. Want to capture an objective? Sleek will get there first.
- The Castigators have both ranged AND melee attacks, but only inspire when successfully using their ranged attacks. Choose wisely when to stay back, and when to get up close and personal!
- Celestus have some excellent Surge objectives such as Balanced Strategy, Bold Claim, and Crucial Objective that allow them to score glory for holding certain objective markers for just one enemy activation! Just the thing to help equip some crucial upgrades in the early game!
The other new warband DLC is Drepur’s Wraithcreepers, a band of four Nighthaunt Glaivewraith Stalkers. As with all Nighthaunt, their ghostly forms allow them to pass through other fighters and blocked hexes, though will still take damage from hazardous tiles.
Drepur’s Wraithcreepers are a fast and aggressive warband that excel at quickly getting into the melee by passing through obstacles, and they have a variety of other movement shenanigans.

Eternal hunters in service of the Great Necromancer Nagash, this band of Glaivewraith Stalkers are driven ever onwards toward their prey by the ceaseless beating of the Patrician’s skin drum. Unlock this warband and play as Drepur’s Wraithcreepers in Warhammer Underworlds: Online now.
THE WARBAND
- This warband consists of 4 fighters!
- The Patrician inspires when at the start of your activation, each other surviving friendly fighter is in enemy territory. The other members of this warband inspire when at the start of your activation, one or more enemy fighters are within 2 hexes of this fighter.
- The drum of the hunt beats endlessly – after every enemy activation, The Patrician is able to push 1 friendly fighter!
TIPS & TRICKS
- Use The Patrician’s Deathbeat ability to push Drepur, Godrig, or Haqfel within exactly 2 hexes of enemy fighters. This will both inspire your Wraithcreeper AND put them in range to deliver a devasting 2 Range attack!
- Use the Wraithcreeper’s Intangible ability to gain positional advantage, moving through enemy or friendly fighters and blocked hexes. But be careful, the Wraithcreepers aren’t immune to damage from Lethal Hexes, so watch which way you move!
- Keep track of what defence characteristic your opponent’s fighters have. Sire Haqfel’s inspired attack (Hunter’s Glaive) has Cleave and can be used effectively against enemies that rely on Block. Godrig the Lance’s inspired attack (also called Hunter’s Glaive) has the Ensnare ability, allowing him to effectively nullify Dodge defences.
Both warband DLC packs cost $6.99 USD each.
Warhammer Underworlds: Online is available on Windows PC via Steam. If you’d like to check out the physical game, you can grab either the upcoming starter box, or the Direchasm set as a good starting point.
