Warhammer TV series will build a “Warhammer Cinematic Universe” while respecting the IP, says Henry Cavill

Warhammer TV series

Hot on the heels of Henry Cavill announcing a new Warhammer TV series, the new executive producer and star himself commented on the new adaptation.

Cavill, who is executive producing the new series as well as starring in it – talked up his new vision for a truly massive “Warhammer Cinematic Universe,” while also respecting the IP that both he and fans clearly love to death.

“For 30 years I have dreamt of seeing a Warhammer universe in live action,” Cavill said. “Now, after 22 years of experience in this industry, I finally feel that I have the skill set and experience to guide a Warhammer Cinematic Universe into life. Partnering with Natalie Viscuso at Vertigo has been a blessing beyond words, without her we might not have found the perfect home at Amazon.”

Cavill noted that having Amazon as a co-production company on the Warhammer TV series will give them the “freedom to be true to the massive scope of Warhammer.”

The former Witcher and Superman star said that he promises to “respect this IP that we love” while also bringing something “familiar” and “fantastic that is, as of yet, unseen.”

Lastly, since the Warhammer TV series is really early in production – Amazon hasn’t even inked the agreement yet – they’re currently looking for creators, writers, and filmmakers.
