Today Games Workshop announced a hefty number of new books will be up for pre-order in the Black Library, the lore library for all Warhammer fans.
There is a strong collection of both Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar books in this pre-order announcement, so let us take a look at what is coming up:
First book announced is the upcoming Vaults of Terra: The Dark City by Chris Wraight. This is going to be the third book in the Vaults of Terra series and follows the story of Interrogator Spinoza as she tries to uncover the truth of what happened to her master, Inquisitor Erasmus Crowl.
The Vaults of Terra series has been very well received by fans with one fan, in a review of the first entry, The Carrion Throne, saying, “The Carrion Throne is a sublime book from a master storyteller who truly understands (and indeed inhabits) the setting in which he writes.”.
Next up is the release of the highest anticipated anthology series, The Rose War by Danie Ware. A collection of eight short stories recovering around The Emperor’s very own “Nuns with Guns,” the Sisters of Battle.
The Rose War series follows the story of Sister superior Augusta Santorus as she fights across the galaxy for the glory of the emperor and the Imperium of Mankind.
Finally in the realm of Warhammer 40,000 we move away from the Imperium of Mankind and instead turn our gaze to the stories of the Necrons, a mysterious ancient race of immortal robots and cyborgs.
In the new book Nate Crowley, The Twice-Dead King follows the story of Oltyx, a young scion of the Ithakas Dynasty who seeks aid to bring an end to a nearly endless Ork invasion only to discover that his own dynasty has been destroyed.
Moving away from Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Age of Sigmar has two books of its own being released to help strengthen its already robust lore.
Richard Strachan is releasing a new novel about King Zothar Athrabis, The Vulture Lord follows the story of duty and freedom as the chosen vessel of Zothar’s son is torn between the two forces. Learn what it means to make a deal with Nagash, the God of Death.
And finally, perhaps my (Tyler Valle’s) most anticipated book, Darius Hinks’ Dominion is available for pre-order. Dominion is the novelization of the Age of Sigmar 3rd Edition boxset of the same name and adds to the backstory of the conflict that can be found within the box.
The novel follows the story of a new army of Stormcast Eternals as they enter into the realm of Beasts and make war with the destructive Kruleboyz Orruks. If you are interested in this novel, perhaps you will be interested in our unboxing video of the 3rd edition boxset coming next week!
Games Workshop continues to expand the massive library of novels with books for everyone, from the Horus Heresy to Age of Sigmar, there is something out there for any Warhammer fan.
