Warhammer 40K TV series officially moving forward; Henry Cavill, Amazon, and Games Workshop agree on premise

Warhammer 40K TV series

Amazon’s long-awaited Warhammer 40K TV series is officially moving forward as Henry Cavill, its star and executive producer, confirmed they’re going into production.

“My incredible team and I, alongside the brilliant minds at Games Workshop, have been working away in concept rooms, breaking down approaches to the enormity and magnificence of the Warhammer world,” Cavill said. “Together, we’ve been sifting through the plethora of incredible characters and poring over old tomes and texts.”

He added, “Our combined efforts have led us to a fantastic place to start our Universe, which has been agreed upon by those up on high at both Amazon and Games Workshop. That starting place shall, for now, remain a secret. Watch this space, though—more to come in time!”

Previously, it seemed that the new Warhammer 40K TV series might not be happening after rumors Cavill wasn’t able to meet editorial guidelines on the series, which per the proposal required all three parties to sign off on the adaptation.

Cavill’s update not only confirms the series now has a central focus and plot point but its premise, story, characters, and production are all in agreement with all involved parties on the series.

The new reveal comes on the anniversary of Cavill’s first foray into the iconic Warhammer series. 30 years ago today he stopped by The Little Shop in his home of Jersey, England, and bought his first Warhammer models.

“To celebrate some Warhammer news, I decided to make a pilgrimage to the very first place I bought Warhammer models over 30 years ago….the Little Shop, on my home island of Jersey!”, Cavill said.

It remains to be seen what Cavill’s new Warhammer 40K TV series will actually focus on – though as mentioned Cavill will executive produce and star in the series.
