Bandai Namco has confirmed to Niche Gamer they’ve picked up the publishing rights to Behaviour Interactive’s MMO shooter, Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade.

Featured above, you can view a new trailer for the upcoming online shooter.

The game will be published across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One sometime this summer. It’s worth mentioning the game has been available on Steam Early Access, to which it has garnered favorable reviews.

You can find a synopsis here, via Bandai Namco:

In Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade, four factions — Space Marines, Chaos Space Marines, Eldar, and Orks — plan their strategy and deploy their squads as they assault strongholds, defend outposts, and delve into the Underworld to combat hordes of Tyranids. Players must work in harmony both on and off the battlefield in order to advance their faction’s goals and establish supremacy over the enemy.

Finally, here’s the key art, as well as a new batch of screenshots for the game:

With Bandai Namco publishing, perhaps Eternal Crusade’s success can build bridges between them and Games Workshop? I know i’m speaking in hypotheticals, but i think we could do with a BattleFleet Gothic action spin-off from Project Aces.

How does a pre alpha video make me hope it’ll be good?

Can I play as a Battle Sister? My interest lives and dies on this point.

Your posts gave me the impression you didn’t understand how it looked like.

And asking “is it good” at this stage of development is rather odd.

Yeah I can chalk that up to me being unclear but all I said was I hope it’s good.

I think the developers said they wanted to have most races playable at some point in the future (safe for Tyranids, which are PvE enemies).

That being said, I wouldn’t get my hopes up to early. Eternal Crusade had more than its fair share of disappointments by now, and the developers seem hell-bent of monetizing the hell out of the game before its even remotely finished.

How could it be anything else, really? A more conventional MMORPG would be stupid, given the world- that is, space marines are always dangerous, so having huge level differences would feel retarded.

So if you want to have a MMO aspect in a 40k game you’re stuck with either strategy or a shooter, and we both know which sells better.

And it could be great if it’s ultimately done like a Battlefield game with full vehicle combat and such.

no. And you never will get that chance. The faction for the imperium is called “Space Marines” it will only have space marines. We will have to hope someone does a client side mod. But even GW doesn’t like sisters of battle. why would their 3rd party game makers?
