Warframe – How to complete the Waverider quest

Warframe Waverider Yareli

Do you have the K-Drive skills required to unlock Yareli and finish the Waverider quest?

The first step towards unlocking the Yareli Warframe is by starting the Waverider quest, which has a few requirements. Waverider isn’t a main story quest, instead being an optional piece of side content, but it does require the player to have completed the Vox Solaris quest, which introduces the Tenno to Fortuna and its citizens.

The Waverider quest requires players to make use of a K-Drive, and thankfully the Vox Solaris quest provides you with a borrowed one, which has the same stats as a custom built one.

The quest starts with players receiving an urgent message from Roky, the leader of a Ventkid gang in fortuna. The message talks about getting into trouble with Nef Anyo, and mentions a single-issue Graphica, a digital comic book.

When players arrive at the Ventkid clubhouse, they’ll find Roky fatally injured, and will be asked by Boon to unlock the missing pages from the Graphica. The Graphica is composed of six pages, and players will unlock the cover by simply interacting with it.

The next 5 pages, however, require specific K-Drive missions to be completed. Below you can view the requirements and recommended ways of clearing each page’s missions:

Unlock Page 1:

Complete a K-Drive Race

This is pretty straightforward, as most K-Drive races shouldn’t be too rough. Simply start a race by finding one of the purple icons on the map and proceed from start to finish, and you’ll get your points.

The start of a few races can be a little difficult, since the game only gives you 10 seconds to move between goals, but the time you gain after completing each one makes the race get easier as it goes on.

Copter x5:

Hold forward and jump twice with your K-Drive equipped, performing the Copter move. The move simply has to be done five times, and is not required to be part of a combo.

Kill 5 enemies with a Secondary Weapon while riding a K-Drive:

Most of the enemies in Fortuna are around level 20 when going around in free roam, so this shouldn’t be a problem.

Using a K-Drive automatically unequips your weapons, so use the weapon switch button to bring up your secondary while your K-Drive.

It’s worth noting that you can be stationary in your K-Drive while using your weapon, so there’s no need to make things more complicated.

Nose Planker or Tail Planker x5:

Aim and jump forwards or backwards with your K-Drive equipped, performing the Nose Planker or Tail Planker moves. The moves simply have to be done five times, and aren’t required to be part of a combo.

Get 5 Headshot Kills with a Secondary Weapon while riding a K-Drive:

This one can be a bit rough, but thankfully the enemies in the Orb Vallis are low-level and you don’t need to do anything else while shooting them.

Simply equip your K-Drive and look for enemies. When you find them, stop and shoot them, since doing it while riding around would be a pain.

It’s recommended to bring a tanky Warframe such as Rhino into free roam to do this, so you can take your time while the enemies try to damage you.

Obtain 5 seconds of air-time on a K-Drive:

If you are really good at using the K-Drive this shouldn’t be an issue, as getting air is simply a matter of knowing the map and hitting the slopes correctly, but if you don’t feel like mastering the K-Drive only to complete this quest, then simply fly around with your Archwing until you find a high place and throw yourself off of it while riding your K-Drive.

This tip will come back in the future, as it’s usually the method used to cheat air-time or combo requirements.

Frontside Rollout x5:

Jump, hold right, and aim with your K-Drive equipped, performing the Frontside Rollout move. The move simply has to be done five times, and is not required to be part of a combo.

Backside Rollout x5:

Jump, hold left, and aim with your K-Drive equipped, performing the Backside Rollout move. The move simply has to be done five times, and is not required to be part of a combo.

Keep a K-Drive trick chain alive for 10 seconds:

This is probably the roughest quest in this chain, but thankfully it can be cheated.

The best way to complete this one is to find the highest place on the map and plummet while doing tricks, as it should give you 10 seconds of air-time. Just make sure to not get too greedy and botch your last trick on your way down, as it will cancel your chain.

Perform 2 x10 combos:

Any long grind is bound to start off with an x5 or x7 multiplier, so simply grind for a while, then jump off the rail and do a few tricks before you hit the ground.

The timing can be tight depending on the place you choose, but it shouldn’t prove too difficult. Holding the jump button while you grind will give you a lot of air time to perform your tricks, so remember that if you are having trouble.

Complete 2 different K-Drive Races:

Hop on your K-Drive and hold the map button to show you the location of all K-Drive races. Pick two different ones and complete them.

There’s 5 K-Drive races active each day in Warframe, meaning that you don’t need to wait for a refresh to get this quest done. Keep in mind that you can repeat the K-Drive quest you completed to unlock the first page.

5 Slam kills with the K-Drive:

This one is a bit weird, but thankfully the enemies in the Orb Vallis aren’t going to put up much of a fight.

A slam kill can be performed simply by jumping and landing on an enemy’s head. If the game doesn’t count your jump as a headshot, the enemy will simply take some damage and get knocked down.

Your slam kills don’t all need to be headshots, but it can take some time to kill an enemy if you keep missing his head. It’s just a matter of stomping them and hoping that your board makes contact with their head.

Kill 5 enemies while mid-air/during a trick chain:

Hold the jump button until fully charged and release for a very high jump, then make sure you have your strongest weapon equipped and blast any enemies you find.

There’s no need to do this in motion, and attempting it during a trick chain will only make things harder, so stick to just killing enemies while you jump.

Collect a total of 10,000 race points:

Thankfully, this quest doesn’t seem to mind if you already completed the daily races, although it does require you to get your points by completing different ones.

With two thousand points per race you should be guaranteed to complete this quest, simply by clearing five races, just make sure you don’t do the same one twice, as it won’t count.

Earn 500 points in a K-Drive trick chain:

The best way to complete this requirement is to find the highest place on the map and plummet while doing tricks, as it should give you enough time to rack up 500 points. Just make sure to not get too greedy and botch your last trick on your way down, as it will cancel your chain.

Roky is saved after the player manages to unlock all pages of the Graphica, as the Grandmother from Deimos manages to concoct an elixir to save her. Grandmother also negotiates with Nef Anyo to rid the Ventkids of their debt, purchasing Fortuna’s vents.

Players who finish up the Waverider quest will receive the main blueprint for the Yareli Warframe, as well as the full Graphica, which can be viewed through a decoration inside of the Orbiter.

We hope you didn’t have too much trouble with the strict K-Drive maneuver requirements, and that you are on your way to build the Yareli Warframe.

Warframe is available on Microsoft Windows (Through Steam), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
